Icaro Moreno

Icaro Blasco Moreno was born in 2012 in São Paulo and is one of the most decorated athletes in kids Jiu-Jitsu. He has won the Pan Kids ten times, in the gi and no-gi, and the American Nationals Kids seven times. In 2026 he won both his weight class and the absolute at the ADCC Youth World Championship.

He moved to the United States with his family at age 3 and started Jiu-Jitsu at 4 in Canton, Massachusetts, at American Gritt under Adila Filho. He then trained at Juniko under Bruno Jacaré and at Atos under Andy Murasaki before joining AOJ in California, where he trains with Gui and Rafa Mendes and Tainan Dalpra.

His first belts came from Adila Filho and Bruno Jacaré, from gray and white in 2016 to yellow and black in 2022. At AOJ, Gui Mendes promoted him to orange in 2023, orange and black in 2024 and green in 2026.

In 2024 he reached the final of the first ADCC Youth World Championship in Las Vegas and took silver after losing to Daniel 220v in the 11 and 12-year-old, under 40 kg division. In February 2025 he had the first kids match in WNO history and submitted Christopher Sarkissian with a rear-naked choke at 4:27. He returned to the event in June and submitted Makenzen Wong.

At the 2026 ADCC Youth World Championship in Austin, he won the 58 kg division, with a rear-naked choke on Perseus Cooperman in the final, and also won the absolute. His specialty is finishing from the back, in every variation.

“Jiu-Jitsu is in my soul,” Icaro says. His idols are Gui and Rafa Mendes, Tainan Dalpra, Leandro Lo and Bruno Munduruca, whom he calls people who changed his life. At school he plays American football. He is sponsored by Kingz, Açaí Republic, Jungle Exotic, RIV, Rehab and BJJ Ink.
