UFC Vegas 123 weigh-ins: Moicano on weight, Marshall misses
The Brazilian hits 156 pounds for his main event against Tom Nolan; Francis Marshall is two pounds over the featherweight limit and the only fighter to miss.

Renato Moicano made weight for the UFC Vegas 123 main event at Friday’s official weigh-ins in Las Vegas. The Brazilian came in at 156 pounds, the maximum allowed for a non-title lightweight bout, while Australia’s Tom Nolan weighed 155.5. The event takes place Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Meta Apex.
Of the 24 fighters on the card, only one missed weight: Francis Marshall, who weighed 148 pounds for his featherweight bout against Dakota Hope.
Moicano right at the limit for Tom Nolan
In non-title fights, the UFC allows one pound over the division limit. Lightweights can weigh up to 155, and Moicano stepped on the scale at exactly one pound over, the most he was allowed. Nothing changes for the main event.
The weigh-ins capped a week of trash talk. At media day, Moicano answered Nolan’s praise with a string of curse words and said he wants money, not compliments. According to Moicano, his contract only pays him in full if he wins.
A Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt who trains at American Top Team, Moicano is 21-7-1 with 11 submission wins. Nolan, 26, is 11-1 and chasing a sixth straight win in the first main event of his career. The fight came together after Moicano’s rematch with Brian Ortega fell through twice in 2026.
Francis Marshall’s weight miss
Marshall came in two pounds over the 146-pound non-title featherweight limit. His opponent, Dakota Hope, weighed 145.5.
As of publication, the UFC had not said whether the bout will go ahead at a catchweight or what penalty Marshall will face. In these cases, the promotion usually gives part of the fighter’s purse to the opponent. Last week, at the UFC 333 weigh-ins, Brazil’s Nicolle Caliari forfeited 30% of her purse after missing by 4.5 pounds.
The Brazilians at UFC Vegas 123
Besides Moicano, four other Brazilians made weight. Luana Santos weighed 136 pounds for her main card bout against Yana Santos, who came in at 135.5.
On the prelims, Rodrigo Sezinando weighed 170.5 for his welterweight bout with Theodor Berggren, who came in at 171. At flyweight, Tainara Lisboa made 125 against Lucia Szabová, who weighed 125.5.
The biggest jiu-jitsu résumé on the card belongs to Talita Alencar, who weighed 116 pounds for her strawweight bout with Piera Rodriguez (115.5). Alencar won the IBJJF World Championship in the gi in 2017, her first Worlds as a black belt, and that same year also won the Pans, the No-Gi Worlds and the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam.
