Uanderson Ferreira is one more name confirmed in the middleweight division of the Crown 2026. He was announced by the IBJJF. The Crown is an invitation-only tournament of the IBJJF, the biggest jiu-jitsu federation in the world.
With Ferreira, the division now has seven confirmed athletes and gets even stronger. Mica Galvão, Tarcisio Santos, José Steve, Leo Souza, Jackson Nagai and Rafael Gamba were already in the bracket. Only one spot is left to complete the eight names.
Who is Uanderson Ferreira
Ferreira was born in Morro de São João, a community in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. He is 25 years old and represents Commando Group, a team from Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. He received his black belt in February 2023.
As a black belt, he won the IBJJF Pan Championship in 2024 and the World Pro, in Abu Dhabi, according to the website BJJ Heroes. After he won the World Pro title, he celebrated with a backflip on the mat, a scene that marked the tournament.
How the Crown works
The fourth edition of the Crown takes place on November 8 at the Walter Pyramid, in Long Beach, California. It has 48 invited athletes in six brackets of eight, and all the matches happen in one night. The champion of each division takes home US$ 20,000. The event is streamed on FloGrappling.
