How old is Mica Galvão

Micael Ferreira Galvão turned 23 on October 8, 2026. He entered his first tournament at age 4 and moved through the belts fast: blue in December 2018, purple in November 2019, brown in October 2020 and black on July 9, 2021, at 17. He went from blue to black in less than three years.

In November 2021, four months after the promotion, he became the youngest black belt champion of the Abu Dhabi World Pro, submitting every opponent in the under-77 kg division.

Major titles

The 2024 season is the most complete of his career. Mica won the Europeans, Pans, Brazilian Nationals and Worlds, with 13 submissions in 16 matches, and in August took ADCC gold in the under-77 kg division. In 2022 he also won the IBJJF Worlds at lightweight at age 18, but the title was stripped in April 2023 after a positive result for clomiphene in a USADA test tied to the tournament. Mica served a one-year suspension, from July 2022 to July 2023.

In 2026, Mica returned to competition at the New Jersey Spring Open and did not compete at ADCC in Kraków. His next date is The Crown, on November 8, at the Long Beach Pyramid in California. He is in the tournament’s middleweight bracket, which pays $20,000 to the champion. Also in the bracket are Uanderson Ferreira, Tarcisio Santos, José Steve, Leonardo “Leleo” Souza, Jackson Nagai and Rafael Gamba. As of this writing, one spot remains open.
