Who is Rodolfo Vieira
Rodolfo Vieira was born in Rio de Janeiro on September 25, 1989, and took up Jiu-Jitsu at 13 to lose weight. As a blue belt, looking for a more competitive room, he went to train with the Universidade Gama Filho team under Julio Cesar Pereira, the squad that later became GFTeam.
His breakthrough came in 2009. Still a brown belt, he won the World Pro in Abu Dhabi, beating two-time world champion Braulio Estima along the way, and got his black belt from Julio Cesar at the airport on his way home. The run earned him the nickname Black Belt Hunter.
In 2011 he won both his weight class and the open class at the IBJJF World Championship. He also won at heavyweight in 2012 and 2013 and at super-heavyweight in 2014, and reached the open class final again in 2013 and 2014. He later moved to MMA and made it to the UFC.
