The main goal, of getting a place to compete in the ADCC main event in Las Vegas, in the United States, was accomplished with excellence by Aurelie Le Vern. The Six Blades Jiu-Jitsu black-belt, in the fight for gold at the ADCC European Trials, advanced through 5 fights, a winning streak with two submissions before showing off the gold on her chest. Satisfied with the performance, Aurelie told the VF Comunica team that she already has everything planned to arrive even more armored in Las Vegas.

“I felt unstoppable. I put a lot of pressure on myself for this championship and I ended up doing very well in the division. I was at a higher level physically and technically. Many have noticed this. Tyrone (Gonsalves) deprived himself of fighting so he could dedicate 100% of his time and attention to me. Our teamwork once again paid off, I’m very proud to have been able to offer him this qualification for the main tournament. Mentally, I wasn’t yet at my best level, but I put new plans into practice with Cacio Zanon to arrive in Vegas indestructible.”, he states with enthusiasm.

In grappling, Aurelie feels her game is freer without her opponents’ grips

At the IBJJF Euros, Aurelie Le Vern was the adult black-belt champion, a title that establishes her as an effective fighter in gi competitions as well. Despite evaluating herself as versatile, knowing how to navigate both terrains, Le Vern says that her game flows more easily in No Gi, as her opponents cannot stalling with the same resources as in a Gi fight.

“Nowadays my opponents try to stall in Gi fights. When I take off the Gi, there is no longer any stalling, as they can’t make a grip on the lapel or the fabric itself. So my game flows more. I can maintain a high level in both modalities because my game is simple and effective, it doesn’t depend on gi grips.”, she analyzes.

Before arriving very confident at the ADCC in Vegas, Aurelie Le Vern will put on the Gi once again to compete in the Brazilian Nationals in Barueri, São Paulo. When mentioning this commitment, Aurelie said exclusively that she already has superfights scheduled and the next step is the announcement. It is worth mentioning that the title of the most traditional IBJJF tournament still held in Brazil would be a welcome motivation for Aurelie at ADCC, who is already recognized herself, deservedly, as the owner of the under-65 kg division.
