Start Doing gets two double golds at South American
Kauã “Lasanha” Gomes and Yasmin Baraúna won weight and open class at juvenile blue belt and led the run that gave the Florianópolis team the juvenile team title

Instituto Start Doing left the IBJJF South American Championship with two athletes at the top of the podium twice. Kauã “Lasanha” Gomes and Yasmin Baraúna won their weight classes and the open class at juvenile blue belt, in Barueri, in the São Paulo metro area.
Gomes won his division in Juvenile 1 and also took the heavy open class. Baraúna won her weight class in Juvenile 2 and the light open class.
Lasanha adds the South American to his Grand Slam
For Gomes, the double gold adds to a season that was already complete. In 2026, he won the European, the Pan, the Brazilian Nationals and the Worlds, the four tournaments of the IBJJF Grand Slam. “All 4 championships without giving up a single point!” the athlete from Santa Catarina wrote on social media when celebrating the run.
Team title at juvenile
Their results drove the team effort. Start Doing finished the South American as the juvenile team champion, with 15 podiums: nine golds, four silvers and two bronzes.
Based in Florianópolis, the institute runs a competition team led by coach Luciano Bernert. The week after the South American, the team also sent three adult athletes to AIGA in Argentina.
