Felipe Pena accepts one-year suspension for his second anti-doping violation
USADA test at the 2021 Worlds found clomiphene; his results since December 12 were disqualified

Felipe Pena accepted a one-year suspension for his second anti-doping rule violation, USADA announced on June 16, 2022. The 30-year-old Brazilian black belt tested positive for clomiphene and its metabolites in an in-competition test at the 2021 IBJJF World Jiu-Jitsu Championship on December 12 of that year.
Clomiphene is a hormone and metabolic modulator, banned at all times under the World Anti-Doping Code and the USADA protocol applied to the tournament.
The suspension started counting on January 7, 2022, the date of his provisional suspension. His results since December 12, 2021, the day the sample was collected, were disqualified, with forfeiture of medals, points and prizes. At those Worlds Pena had won the open class. The IBJJF agreed to impose the sanction.
Pena’s first violation was announced by USADA in 2015, after a test at the 2014 Worlds found testosterone. He also received a one-year suspension then.
USADA was contracted by the IBJJF to run testing at the tournament. The details are in the statement published by the agency.
