Kauã “Lasanha” Gomes

Kauã Gomes, known as Lasanha, completed the IBJJF Grand Slam in 2026 at Juvenile 1 blue belt: he won the Europeans, the Pans, the Brazilian Nationals and the Worlds in the same season. In the federation’s official results, he is listed as Kauã Gomes Yasin Pedrolo.

He competes for Instituto Start Doing, in Florianópolis, Brazil, and trains with coach Luciano Bernert, whom he calls his master, and with André Bernert. In 2025, still a green belt, he was competing in the teen division.

In his first season as a blue belt, he won the Europeans, Pans and Brazilian Nationals at middleweight and closed the run at Worlds, in Long Beach, at ultra heavyweight. He also took bronze in the heavy open class at the Pans, the Brazilian Nationals and the Worlds. “This title belongs to all of us!” he wrote after the world title, thanking his coaches and training partners.

After the Grand Slam, he won the No-Gi Brazilian Nationals at super heavyweight, with silver in the open class, and closed the IBJJF South American Championship with double gold. The team’s youth program was the subject of an interview with coach Luciano Bernert.

Kauã is on VF Comunica’s list of 10 Jiu-Jitsu talents who could blow up in 2027.
