Who is Bianca Andrade
Bianca Andrade was born in the northeastern Brazilian state of Alagoas in 1973 and grew up near the ocean. As a teenager she was a sponsored bodyboarder, but she walked away from the sport after a string of results she blamed on unfair judging. Looking for something else to do, she found Jiu-Jitsu.
She began training with Diojone Farias, a black belt under Banni Cavalcanti, and made her name nationally in 2000 with a gold medal at the Brazilian Nationals. She won the IBJJF World Championship in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2010, and won the No-Gi Worlds in 2007 and 2008.
She was inducted into the IBJJF Hall of Fame in 2014.
