Who is Pawel Jaworski
Paweł Kacper Jaworski is the athlete who took Poland to the top of grappling. In September 2026, in front of his home crowd at the Tauron Arena in Kraków, he won the under 88 kg division at the ADCC World Championship and became the first Polish champion in the tournament’s history. In the final he beat Sweden’s Marlon Tajik on a penalty.
Developed at Academia Gorila in Warsaw under head coach Marcin Polczyk, Jaworski is known for his leg-lock game. Heel hooks and reaping entries are the base of a style he summed up in one line to the IBJJF: “I simply want to be known for having beautiful and effective jiu-jitsu.” That knowledge has also turned into an instructional and seminars across Europe and Brazil.
His no-gi run started early. He won the IBJJF European No-Gi title at purple belt in 2022 and the No-Gi Worlds at the same belt in 2023. At brown belt in 2024 he won his division and the absolute at both the European and World No-Gi championships.
At black belt, earned at 21, the pace did not change. In 2025 he won the European No-Gi in his division and the absolute with seven submissions in nine matches, took his division at the No-Gi Pans with a win over world champion Wallisson Oliveira, and closed the year as No-Gi world champion at medium heavyweight and runner-up in the absolute.
In March 2026 he made his ONE Championship debut challenging Tye Ruotolo for the welterweight submission grappling title at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok and lost on decision. Before the match he told ONE: “This is the biggest fight, and it’s the best opportunity for me to show myself against the best guy in my division.”
He answered over the rest of the season. In July he took double gold at the Brazilian No-Gi Nationals in Rio, with heel hooks in the medium heavyweight and absolute finals. After ADCC, he returned in October and won his division and the absolute at the No-Gi Pans in New Jersey, beating Wallisson Oliveira in the absolute final.
