Andy Tomas Murasaki Pereira was born on March 26, 2000, in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, to Brazilian parents. He came to Brazil as a baby and spent much of his childhood there. He started Jiu-Jitsu at age 8 with his father, Anderson Murasaki, who promoted him up to blue belt.

At 15 he moved to the United States to train with Caio Terra in California. As a juvenile he won the IBJJF Worlds and Pans in 2016 and 2017, and got his purple belt from Caio Terra in late 2017. In 2018 he began training at Atos in San Diego with André Galvão.

At purple belt he won the 2018 Europeans and the 2019 Pans. In 2020, as a brown belt, he won both tournaments and, on December 21, got his black belt from André Galvão at age 20.

His first black belt title came in 2021, in the featherweight Grand Prix at EUG. In 2022 he won No-Gi Worlds at middleweight and, in 2023, Europeans at lightweight. From 2022 to 2025 he reached four straight IBJJF Worlds finals in three weight classes: middleweight, medium-heavyweight and lightweight. He took silver each time, losing to Tainan Dalpra, Gustavo Batista, Mica Galvão and Matheus Gabriel.

At The Crown, he lost the 2023 final to Tainan Dalpra. In 2024 he took the middleweight crown after Tainan, with a broken hand, could not compete in the final. In 2025 he defended the title with a 4-0 win over Jackson Nagai in the final. That same year he won his weight class and the open class at the IBJJF Asian Championship and made his UFC debut by submitting Daniel Sathler in overtime at Fight Pass Invitational 10.

In 2026 he left Atos and began representing Art of Jiu-Jitsu (AOJ). In February he submitted Andy Varela at UFC BJJ 5, and in May he won the Brazilian Nationals at lightweight with four submissions in four matches. At Worlds he lost in the round of 16 to Tarcisio Santos on advantages.

The next tournament on his schedule is the IBJJF Houston Fall Open on October 10, where he is registered at medium-heavyweight. A two-time Crown middleweight champion, as of October 5 he was not among the athletes the IBJJF had confirmed for the 2026 edition, set for November 8.
