Ffion Davies wants a rematch with Cássia Moura
The two-time world champion submitted Jaine Fragoso in the first round and wants another shot at the Brazilian who beat her by split decision for the first belt

Ffion Davies made it clear who she wants next after submitting Jaine Fragoso at UFC BJJ 13. The Welsh grappler said her goal is to get back to a bantamweight title shot and, ideally, a rematch with Cássia Moura, who beat her for the inaugural belt.
Thursday night’s win in Las Vegas was Davies’s second straight first-round submission. She pulled guard, swept, passed to side control, mounted and locked an arm triangle at 2:07. Before the match, Davies had talked about adapting to UFC BJJ’s faster five-minute rounds, and she came out aggressive from the first exchange.
The first match came down to details
The two met on March 12 at UFC BJJ 6 for the inaugural women’s bantamweight title. Moura won a split decision in a match full of takedowns on both sides. The Brazilian took the first round with two takedowns and more initiative, Davies answered in the second with a double leg and top pressure, and in the third they traded takedowns until the end, with Davies finishing on top.
Moura has a line of challengers
Since then, Moura defended her belt with a rear-naked choke on Sabrina Gondim in May. On October 8 she also won the inaugural flyweight title by beating Adele Fornarino, again by split decision, to become UFC BJJ’s first two-division champion.
Davies is not the only one after her. After UFC BJJ 12, Gabi McComb publicly asked for a match with Moura, and UFC BJJ president Claudia Gadelha backed a rematch between the champion and Fornarino at flyweight.
A two-time IBJJF world champion in the gi, in 2022 and 2023, and a 2023 No-Gi world champion in her division and the absolute, Davies was the first British woman to win the World Championship at black belt.
