Kingz restocks Leandro Lo tribute gi at Master Worlds

The brand’s director told VF Comunica in Las Vegas that the gi honoring the late champion is limited and will likely get just one more run.

Kingz brought a restock of its gi honoring Leandro Lo to the IBJJF World Master Championship in Las Vegas in early September. Launched at the adult Worlds in May, the gi sold out in some sizes in the first run, and the brand’s director, Gabriel, told VF Comunica it will not be around forever.

“We have Leandro’s gi here, the one we launched at the Worlds. It’s back. We restocked it, and there are some new sizes that sold out in the first round,” Gabriel said at the Kingz booth at Jiu-Jitsu Con.

A limited edition

The gi is a special edition of the Ultralight, Leandro’s favorite model, and is part of the Kingz campaign inspired by the champion, launched at the Worlds in Long Beach. A share of every sale goes to Instituto Leandro Lo in São Paulo, which supports kids and young athletes. The partnership between the brand and Leandro turns ten in 2026: it began in 2016, at the Worlds where he won his fifth straight world title.

Gabriel made it clear that anyone who wants one should not wait. “We’ll probably do one more run of it, but it really is limited,” he said. Asked how to buy something that has already sold out, he kept it simple: “If it’s sold out, it’s sold out.”

He drew a line between the special gis and the brand’s core line, which is restocked all the time. The tribute models, he said, are limited series that do not come back like the core gis do.

Women’s line and new caps

The booth also showed new apparel. “We launched the women’s line, it looks really good,” Gabriel said, adding four new men’s styles and caps from the Leandro Lo line. One of the new releases was the Mata-Leão cap, named after the Portuguese term for the rear-naked choke. According to the director, more gi releases are coming in the second half of the year.

A longtime home for athletes

At the booth, VF Comunica also ran into Ícaro Moreno, a Kingz athlete since 2018 or 2019, by his count. He remembered his first shoot with the brand’s team and talked about the relationship since then: “It’s the best brand I’ve ever been part of, the one that’s made me feel most at home, helped me the most, and keeps guiding me through the sport.”

The Kingz partnership with VF Comunica also produced Mat Stories, a series made by Vitor Freitas and VF Comunica for the Kingz YouTube channel. One of the episodes tells the story of Megaton Dias.
