With 36 athletes, Lucas Pinheiro’s team tops the kids academy ranking at the PBJJF Orlando Open

Pinheiro Jiu-Jitsu finished first in the kids team ranking at the PBJJF Orlando Open. The PBJJF is a federation that runs jiu-jitsu tournaments. With 36 young athletes on the mats, the team led by Lucas Pinheiro scored enough points to finish at the top among the academies in the kids division.
The size of the lead also stood out. The winning team finished with more than twice the points of the second-place team.
The result shows the work Pinheiro Jiu-Jitsu does with young athletes and the growth of the international tournaments run by the PBJJF.
Who is Lucas Pinheiro
Lucas Pinheiro was born in Manaus, Brazil. He was the IBJJF black belt world champion at roosterweight, the lightest weight class, in 2023, one year after he won the No-Gi World Championship. He retired from competition after the 2023 title. Today he leads Pinheiro Jiu-Jitsu in Winter Garden, Florida, an academy with gi and no-gi classes for kids.
The PBJJF moves closer to academies
The Orlando Open took place on Saturday, October 3, in Florida. The PBJJF offers free affiliation for academies until the end of 2026. According to its president, JP Ferreira, the federation wants to connect events, education, academies, athletes and the community.
