Leonardo “Leo” Ferreira comes into The Crown 2026 as one of the top heavyweights of the season. The Alliance athlete won the Europeans and the Brasileiro this year and took bronze at Worlds. He opens against Nicholas Maglicic this Sunday, November 8, at the Pyramid in Long Beach, California.

“I think the difference will be in the details, the strategy and, above all, the ability to impose my game. At this level, everyone is very well prepared, and any detail can decide a match,” Ferreira told VF Comunica.

“I have a lot of respect for Nico and everything he has achieved. But I also know my potential, I know the work I’ve been doing and I have a lot of confidence in my Jiu-Jitsu.”

“Winning The Crown would mean a lot to me. It would confirm that I’m on the right path toward my biggest dream, which is to become a black belt World Champion. But I don’t want to win just for the title or the name of my opponent. I want to get out there, put on great Jiu-Jitsu, go for the submission and show the progress I’ve been building.”

A rematch with Fellipe Andrew can only happen in the final, according to the Crown 2026 brackets.
