Felipe Souza wins gold and silver at IBJJF Master North America 2022
Felipe Oliveira de Souza delivered a standout performance at the 2022 IBJJF Master North America Championship, one of the most competitive events on the federation’s calendar for master division athletes. Competing among black belts in the Master 3 division, Felipe showed consistency and high-level technique to reach the podium in two of the tournament’s toughest brackets.
In his weight class, Super Heavyweight, Felipe put together a strong campaign and claimed the top spot on the podium, securing the title with controlled and composed performances. Facing experienced and physically imposing opponents, he imposed his pace and confirmed the gold medal.

In the absolute division — an open-weight bracket widely considered the most challenging in the tournament — Felipe returned to the mats to face opponents from different weight classes.
