Guilherme “Castellinho” Camargo

Guilherme Camargo Castello Branco, known as Castellinho, finished his blue belt run with three gold medals in 2026: the Europeans, the Brazilian Nationals and the Worlds, all at adult medium-heavyweight. At the Brazilian Nationals and the Worlds, he also reached the open class final and took silver.

Born on May 31, 2006, he started Jiu-Jitsu at 8 years old. He trains at CheckMat under Sebastian Lalli, who promoted him to purple belt on May 28, 2026, on the Worlds podium in Long Beach.

At the Brazilian Nationals, in Barueri, he had seven matches by the end of the event. “Very happy to impose my game against athletes of such a high level,” he wrote, in Portuguese, after the medium-heavyweight title.

At purple belt, he won the open class at the Floripa Winter Open, with silver at heavyweight, and took silver at heavyweight and bronze in the open class at the IBJJF South American Championship, in Barueri. His go-to submission is the choke from the back. His next challenge is the World Pro, in Abu Dhabi.

Guilherme is on VF Comunica’s list of 10 Jiu-Jitsu talents who could blow up in 2027.
