Anna Rodrigues

Between December 2021 and June 2022, Anna Rodrigues won two light-featherweight world titles in six months, and both finals put her across from Tammi Musumeci. In the first, in Anaheim, she won 4-2. In the second, in Long Beach, she choked Sofia Amarante from the back in the quarterfinals, armbarred Rose El Sharouni in the semifinal and beat Musumeci again, this time 4-0.

She was born on December 14, 1998, in Niterói. She was raised by her grandmother in Ceará until she was 4 and then grew up in Rio das Pedras, in Rio’s west zone. She tried gymnastics and volleyball before starting Jiu-Jitsu at 13 at Márcio Rodrigues’s Team MR. At 15 she moved to São Paulo on a full scholarship at Luiz Guigo’s academy, competing for Atos. She received her brown belt from Fábio Gurgel and her black belt from Isaque Bahiense in September 2019, shortly after her fourth world title in the coloured belts.

She helped build Dream Art from the project’s founding in 2018 and leads the team’s women’s squad. At black belt the titles came one after another: the 2020 Europeans, Pans and the Brazilian Nationals in 2021, then Pans, the Europeans and the No-Gi Pans in 2022. Before the 2023 Worlds, the IBJJF had her at 27 wins and 2 losses in its tournaments.

In 2023 she won the Europeans and Pans, with both finals settled by a choke from the back, and moved up to featherweight for Worlds. She reached the final and lost to Bianca Basílio on advantages. In 2024 she won the Rome Grand Slam, beat Ana Schmitt at BJJ Stars 12 and returned to the featherweight world final after beating Larissa Campos 4-2 in the semifinal. She lost the final to Nathalie Ribeiro on a referee decision. At that year’s ADCC, at 55 kg, she beat Alex Enriquez and lost in the semifinal to Bianca.

Since 2025 she has competed in heavier divisions outside the major IBJJF events. She won the 2025 Curitiba Pro and the 2026 Sul-Brasileiro, both at 64 kg, and in March 2026 beat Jasmine Rocha on a decision at UFC BJJ 6.
