The 2025 season marked another strong chapter in the career of Diogo Oliveira de Souza, a 4th-degree black belt and one of the most consistent names in Master 3 Jiu-Jitsu. Representing Triunfo Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Diogo delivered high-level performances at both the Orange County Open and the IBJJF Sacramento Fall International Open, solidifying his position among the top athletes in his division.

At the IBJJF Sacramento Fall International Open No-Gi Championship 2025, Diogo went beyond his weight class and captured the most prestigious title of the event: the absolute (Open Class) gold medal in the Master 3 black belt division. Competing without weight limits, he overcame opponents of different sizes and styles, showcasing technical control, strategy, and over two decades of experience on the mats.

In addition to his absolute title, Diogo also reached the podium in his weight division, earning second place in the Super Heavy category among Master 3 black belts. These results highlight not only his competitiveness but also his consistency at a high level.

Sacramento Fall 2025 Results:

🥇 1st Place – Absolute (Open Class) – Master 3 / Black Belt
🥈 2nd Place – Super Heavy – Master 3 / Black Belt

Another key highlight came at the Orange County Open, where Diogo secured first place in the Heavy division (202 lbs), maintaining his standard of excellence in IBJJF competition.

At 44 years old, Diogo stands as a clear example of longevity and evolution in Jiu-Jitsu. He began his journey in 2001 and earned his black belt in 2011, accumulating over 20 years of experience on the mats. His fighting style reflects that experience: constant pressure, smart decision-making, and the ability to adapt to different match scenarios.

Competing in the Master 3 division, he faces seasoned athletes and continues to perform at the highest level, proving that consistency and dedication remain key factors in elite performance.

The 2025 season further reinforces Diogo Souza’s name as a reference in the IBJJF Master circuit, especially in the heavier divisions and in the absolute — where technique, strategy, and composure play an even bigger role.

More than just titles, these results represent the continuation of a career built with discipline since 2001 and one that continues to evolve even after more than a decade as a black belt.
