Tyrone Gonsalves, Six Blades black-belt, is one of those masters athletes who lead an athlete’s lifestyle with the disposition of a high-performance adult. Always present at the biggest grappling and Gi Jiu-Jitsu competitions around the world, Tyrone is one of those favored by the rise and appreciation of the master division.
For him, there is no longer any reason to separate, as amateurs and professionals, athletes over 30 years old from adults, from 18 to late 20s. With the development of the sport, experiencing Jiu-Jitsu with the seriousness of a professional has become a necessity, regardless of your date of birth.
“Actually, for me, the master is professional too. Many masters athletes are much more committed and professional than many adults, taking themselves more seriously in several aspects. I am a person who is always looking for improvement, not only on the mat, but also in building my image and in terms of communication.”, Tyrone said, including himself in the group of dedicated people.
Tyrone wants a superfight soon, it could be grappling or Gi Jiu-Jitsu
In the current season, Tyrone Gonsalves has already participated at the IBJJF Euros and Brazilian Nationals, in Gi Jiu-Jitsu, and in grappling he has already faced the challenge of the ADCC Trials. With his mind on the near future and the commitments that await him, Tyrone mentioned two names he would like to face in a superfight: Adam Wardzinski and Patrick Gaudio. As for the sport, he has no preference.
“A fight that would make sense for me, in my community, would be against Adam Wardzinski in grappling. I saw that he also likes No Gi fighting, but if he wants we can do a Gi fight, I have no preference. Or, I would like to face Patrick Gaudio, if it has to be an athlete from Brazil, both Gi and No Gi.”, Tyrone suggested.
