Melqui Galvão’s school once again proved to be a place for black-belt hunters. This time, the one in charge of the feat was Kalebe Henrique, blue-belt and ADCC Youth champion of the season. He defeated William Ragnarok at Amazon Abu Dhabi, a Jiu-Jitsu event that took place this Thursday, November 14, in Manaus.

Ragnarok replaced Luiz Paulo, a black-belt and former student of Melqui Galvão who was initially scheduled for the duel. In action, Kalebe performed masterfully despite his lesser experience compared to his opponent, supported by the black-belt around his waist. The kid quickly passed to the back, controlled and managed to choke.

Kalebe Henrique fought flawlessly in the gi all year long

In tournaments endorsed by the IBJJF, Kalebe Henrique demonstrated aggressive Jiu-Jitsu. At the 2024 Brazilian Nationals, the competitor won the double gold, finishing in all matches. He was also world champion fighting in the Juvenile, as a blue-belt. In addition to the gold in the weight division, he secured the bronze medal in the open class.

Mica Galvão, Kalebe’s training partner, Melqui Galvão’s son and one of the greatest champions of our time, was the pioneer in this feat. When he was still a Juvenil blue-belt, he managed to submit an opponent who was a black-belt. Guilherme Oliveira, another young star from Melqui’s school, won gold medals at the ADCC Open in São Paulo this year. He fought in the adult division among black-belts.
