Steffen Banta has been given the biggest opportunity of his career so far. The American will replace his teacher, João Gabriel Rocha, and compete in the Absolute GP on September 1st in Las Vegas. At the age of 23, Banta will have the opportunity to show the quality of his Jiu-Jitsu against the best names in Jiu-Jitsu today.

Steffen is considered to be one of the most promising BJJ fighters in the United States and has built a successful career in the color belts. He was world champion at brown belt with and without a gi last year at superheavy and has also defeated the dangerous Nico Maglicic, from Atos.

Steffen Banta has been a member of the Jiu-Jitsu elite since December last year. So far, he hasn’t won any major titles at the black belt level, but he has shown himself to be polished with each championship.

He now joins Nicholas Meregali, Victor Hugo, Gutemberg Pereira, Fellipe Andrew, Horlando Monteiro, Francisco Lo and Paulo Merlin.
