The 2024 season started in the best possible way for Cássio Silva. At the IBJJF Euros, the leader of the School of Champs, in Paris, secured first place. A result that followed the gold at the AJP Tour Grand Slam, in Tokyo, a federation for which the black-belt has great admiration.
In an interview with the VF Comunica team, Cássio Silva, in camp for the Grand Slam in Rome, which takes place next month, said that his campaign this year is driven by the objective of remaining free of negative results in his commitments on the mat.
“The expectation is to win and remain undefeated this year. The AJP Tour has already motivated several federations to start valuing athletes, but it continues to be the federation that values the most.”, he highlights.

Cássio Silva is the type of athlete who travels the world fighting Jiu-Jitsu and his years of experience have also given him credibility to analyze the development of Jiu-Jitsu in different terrains. Today, the region he knows best is France, having worked in the country as a professor.
“The results show the improvement we have had in France, I am doing my part too, my project is to professionalize my athletes in my academy and I already see this happening in less than 5 years.”, he projects.
With no plans for grappling this year, Cássio is focused on Gi competitions, but emphasizes that a good proposal can change the game. To this end, he emphasizes the habit of remaining prepared for any challenge that arises.
“I always try to improve my Jiu-Jitsu, keeping myself prepared for any situation, but I also really try to improve my strengths so that I can constantly lead my opponent to my game.”, he adds, showing in practice that his methodology of competition is synchronized with effectiveness.
