With a fight scheduled in Rio de Janeiro, at ADXC 7, Aurelie Le Vern will face Ana Carolina Vieira in a grappling match, none other than the 2024 ADCC champion and sister of the star of the night, Rodolfo Vieira. Her opponent, a French black-belt from Six Blades, was called up for the fight due to an equally impressive resume: this year, she was the European champion fighting with a Gi, won the ADCC Trials and, more recently, was a gold medalist at the IBJJF European No Gi, in the weight division and in the open class.
In an interview with VF Comunica, Le Vern spoke about the preparation for the ADXC in Rio, scheduled for next Sunday, November 17. According to her, the planning followed the same strategies for the ADCC, in Vegas.
“Technically, I’m following the same protocol for the ADCC. Mentally, I know there are some things that can motivate her, like Rodolfo being the main event, for example, and also the fact that the event is in her city. But I’m driven by big challenges. Nothing has ever been easy in my career. So, let’s go for it.”.
Aurelie Le Vern analyzes Ana Carolina Vieira’s Jiu-Jitsu
When analyzing the style of Ana Carolina, five-time Jiu-Jitsu world champion, Aurelie Le Vern admits that in the fighting game the two are “almost sisters”. She also said that she recognizes her opponent’s bigger experience. However, using the cage space to move intelligently is one of her strategies.
“We are, if I may say so, almost sisters because we fight the same way. Of course she is more experienced than me, but we studied her game a lot and found some weaknesses. I also believe that I can use the cage to my advantage.”.
The black-belt is experiencing the best phase of his career as a professional athlete
With so many great opportunities coming her way, Aurelie Le Vern says she is living a dream come true, as she never imagined she would make a living as a professional athlete. “I am taking advantage of and living each opportunity as if it were my last.”.
A victory against Brazilian Ana Carolina Vieira would mean much more in terms of her career. An action that would legitimize all of Aurelie’s efforts after two whole years dedicated to grappling.
“Beating Carol would be the culmination of all the work I’ve been doing for the past two years, when I really focused on grappling. It would also show the world that I have my place among the best. My results are there to prove it. I won all the major events in Europe in 2024. In fact, I was supposed to fight in the ADXC that took place in Paris, but God is great. Here I am making my debut against the current ADCC champion.”.
